Who was Bootique?

Bootique was a boutique fashion label based in London, England. The company specialized in women's apparel.

Overview

Bootique was launching its business and the company's principal wanted a business card design to go with the mod, curvacious logo she had already selected. She was concerned about insuring the company's image as a fun, youthful brand that would be adding a fresh new look in the marketplace.

The Project

The first thing that came to my mind when I sat down to work on the cards was a plush hanger. So I went and found the perfect image to work into the design. The owner was a big fan of bright pastels, so worked in shades of pink and orange. I enjoyed making these cards a great deal.

What They Said

"The business cards were brilliant. I especially loved the hanger Jonathan added beneath the logo. He mixed humor and a fun style into marketing the company's image."

Who was Digital Blends?

Digital Blends was an independent music recording label.

Overview

I wanted a set of consistent, attractive materials to reinforce my company's brand with record distributors, PR firms, retail stores and consumers. I was especially interested in representing the label's music, a rich and hearty mix of digital and organic sounds.

The Project

For the logo, I crafted a modern, looping image based on the initials of the record label's name. The name itself played on mixing metaphors of rich, organic coffee and dance music terminology and I selected a corresponding palette of coffee and gold tones. Once finalized, the logo and logotype were incorporated into an accompanying business card design as well as labels for the company's products.

What Happened

The label launched with some modest success. I felt the company's image was well-represented by it's identity collateral and felt confident using the materials for promoting the business.

Who is Zedneram Imagery?

Zedneram Imagery is a fashion photography business that promotes people of color in the modelling business.

Overview

Zedneram Imagery's owner needed a logo that would capture the fresh, unconventional appeal of the business' photography and clearly define the company's brand across all messaging formats.

The Project

As Zedneram was a play on the business owner's name, I fashioned a typographic logo whose basic elements suggested both the edges and definition as well as the shadows and deep shades that marked the photographer's style. For the logo itself, I selected a serif font to achieve this effect and wove letters together while opting for shapes in shades of smoke gray. I used another font for the company's name–something that projected the persuasive and exotic photographic style.

What Happened

After the logo was created, patrons, clients, and professional contacts mentioned that they liked the modern image that the business projected.

What They Said

"Jonathan is so great. I was so excited when he showed it to me. I never expected him to come up with a logo that played with my name and the company name at the same time—and that it would look so great, too."

Who was Claria?

Overview

Claria sought to rename and rebrand itself as the company began to pursue a different business strategy. Upper management wanted a website that would project this new identity and convey tightly focused messaging.

The Project

After drafting requirements definitions, I established a tight three week schedule to plan, design, build, and launch the new website. I worked closely with upper management to obtain quick approvals in order for the project to stay on track. The design and build process went smoothly and the company was pleased with the project.

What They Said

"Jonathan hit the ground running with this one. We were trying to move as rapidly as possible in a changing marketplace and only had so much time to produce the site. Jonathan picked up the project and rapidly executed against it."

Who was NOA?

National Oncology Alliance (now part of McKesson) was a healthcare group purchasing organization that specialized in oncology.

Overview

NOA’s aging website was in bad need of a revamp. When I approached them, the company was willing to consider a redesign that would update its look while leaving the site’s content unchanged.

The Project

I proposed a redesign that included completely reworking the home page as wells as rethinking calls to action appearing on every page’s right column and the overall use of layout, color and contrast to make the site resemble graphic design used in prescriptions and other medical industry collateral.

With a limited budget, I moved from design approval into a three week production phase. Once completed the client was very happy with the results and the redone website was released to the public.

What They Said

"Jonathan’s work with NOA was exceptional. He approached every project with an eye to quality and maximum benefit to our business. We were particularly impressed with his turnaround – he stayed on top of our requests and always let us know if there were changes to schedule."
