Who was Intrax Education Abroad?
Intrax Education Abroad (IEA) produced and coordinated faculty-led short-term study abroad programs for university-level students in the U.S.
Overview
IEA requested the creation of a website that would support their newly renamed and rebranded program. IEA's unique relationship with the higher education market added an additional layer of challenge in defining their website's market position and features. By providing services to study abroad administrators, faculty, and students, IEA's website required features that would simultaneously appeal to three distinct and diverse audiences.
The Project
I led a series of meetings with the Intrax marketing department and IEA's program director in order to gather requirements for the project and to produce a project plan that defined the product's vision and schedule for production. I then coordinated site design while securing buy-in from key stakeholders across the organization.
IEA's site was designed to stand alone as a destination and lead-producing product for the business unit. At the same time, the site was developed to conform to the encompassing Intrax brand and integrate within the parent organization's long-term business goals.
What Happened
Following an intense three week period of production that included rapid response to sudden changes in direction, IEA's site launched to immediate applause by the company's business partners and contacts at higher education institutions across the country. IEA staff members expressed a great deal of excitement that the new website would significantly broaden their program's appeal and lead to higher revenues and increased program participation.
